Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan on Wednesday said that the rumours circulated about Hurriyat (G) leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s health condition is baseless.
Khan further said Geelani’s condition is stable.
A team of doctors was sent to Geelani’s residence day before yesterday, Director of Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Prof AG Ahangar said, adding Geelani’s health is better and his treatment is underway.
In a statement issued by IG Kashmir Vijay Kumar said, “I want to appeal to the public to not to pay attention to the rumours. If they want to confirm any information about Syed Ali Shah Geelani, they should contact the Police Control Room,” reported a local news portal.
Meanwhile, authorities snapped internet services in Kashmir on Wednesday evening after the speculations were on rife about Geelani’s deteriorating health.
