Srinagar: Students on Wednesday urged Kashmir University and other varsities in Jammu and Kashmir to defer their examination scheduled on 16 January in view of the examination by the railway recruitment board.

“Railway recruitment board is conducting the exam on 16 January and one of our papers for UG course is also scheduled on the same date and hence there is a clash,” a group of students told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS). “There is a clash in the date and as such we request the authorities of Kashmir University and other varsities in Jammu and Kashmir to defer the examination scheduled on January 16,” they said.

The railway road is conducting examination across India on January 16 and as such difficult for it to postpone it, they said. “The university authorities are quested to take into consideration scarce job opportunities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and allow us to sit in the railway examination,” they added.
