Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday revoked Public Safety Act detention order of former minister Naeem Akther, reported a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer.

Mr. Akther, a senior People’s Democratic Party leader, was detained in August last year when the Central government revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and bifurcated the erstwhile state into two Union Territories.

He is expected to be released later in the day. (KNO)
