Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police resorted to lathi-charge at main town in Tral, south Kashmit, to disperse people, queued up in front of various outlets, despite prohibitory orders on Thursday.

A team from Tral Police Station led by newly joined Station House Officer, G.M. Rather, dispersed people with the motive to contain the spread the spread of COVID-19 in the area.

SHO Tral, Rather, said, “People shouldn’t roam unnecessarily as it may have severe consquences in the future.” He further said that everyone should stay home and shouldn’t gather, in an attempt to combat the COVID-19.

“Apart from emergencies, people should strictly follow the government advisories and should stay put to avert Coronavirus threat,” Rather said.

By far, Tral has not witnessed any positive case. (KNT)
