Srinagar: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that militant commander “Riyaz Naikoo’s destiny was decided the moment he picked up the gun and adopted path of terror and violence.”
The National Conference leader while taking to his Twitter handle said, “RiyazNaikoo’s destiny was decided the moment he picked up the gun & adopted the path of violence & terror. His death must not be used as an excuse by some to put more people in harms way by provoking violence & protests,”
35-year-old Naikoo the operational commander of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed in a gunfight in his native village in Beighpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district this afternoon .
