The body of an engineer from Srinagar, who was missing after a glacier burst in Uttarakhand on Sunday, was found on Friday.
Local sources told The Kashmir Walla that the body of Basharat Ahmad Zargar, a resident of Soura area who was working on Rishi Ganga power project, was found after five days.
A local newspaper, Kashmir Observer, quoted Zargar’s brother saying, “My brother’s body was found by NDRF near the power project at 2.30 PM” on Friday.
“One more body found in Rishigana Project namely Er Basharat Ahmad Zargar From Srinagar Kashmir,” said Nasir Khuehami, a student leader, who is coordinating with the state government.
Basharat, 53, was reportedly conducting a site inspection in the tunnel when, minutes after the glacier broke, water gushed inside blocking their exit. So far, at least thirty-five persons have been found dead while more than 160 are still missing.
