Srinagar: Government forces on Saturday morning launched Cordon and Search Operation in three villages of south Kashmir.

An official told that on specific inputs about the presence of militants, the search operation was in Semthan area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district, Nowpora Frisal area of Kulgam district and Sofigund area of Tral in Pulwama district.

He added that search operation was launched by 3 RR and Bibehara Police in Semthan, Ist RR and Yaripora Police in Nowpora Yaripora and 42 RR and Tral Police in Sofigund Tral.

Local sources told that huge of contingent of police and paramilitary troopers have been deployed in these areas and door to door search is underway.

Sources said that all the entry and exit points of these areas have also been sealed by the authorities. (KNO)
