Srinagar: Religious preacher heading a mosque in Allapeer Mandi in Poonch district has been booked by police for violation of restriction order and holding Friday prayers with a reported gathering of 50-60 person.

Friday prayers were restricted amid COVID-19 across Jammu and Kashmir as a preventive measure to coronavirus and to restrict assembly of people.

However, Friday prayer was held with a gathering of above fifty person in Allapeer masjid in Poonch Mandi after which the main Imam of the mosque among others have been booked by police.

“We have registered a case under relevant sections of law in Mandi police station and further legal course of action is going on.” said SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral. (KNO)
