Srinagar: 20 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), all from Kashmir division, were reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 454.

Out of 454 positive cases, 357 are Active Positive, 92 have recovered and 5 have died.

North Kashmir’s Bandipora crossed 100 mark as new 9 positive cases surfaced in the district on Friday. Bandipora has now 108 positive cases wherein 89 are Active Positive, 18 recovered and 1 has died, Srinagar 79 positive cases with 51 Active Positive, 27 recovered and 1 died, though the deceased was the actual inhabitant of Sopore, Baramulla 52 positive cases with 46 Active Positive, 4 recovered, and 2 died; Kupwara has 45 positive cases with 39 Active Positive and 6 recovered; Shopian has 67 positive cases with 61 Active Positive, 6 recovered; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases with 12 Active positive and 2 have recovered; Budgam 14 positive cases of which 5 are Active Positive with 9 recovered cases; Kulgam has 6 cases and all are Active Positive; Pulwama 3 positive cases who all have recovered; Anantnag district has 9 positive cases and all are active Positive.

In Kupwara most of the infected persons are from Andharhama Shah Wali Maqam while in Shopian majority of the patients hail from Herpora village. All the 12 patients from Herpora Shopian were admitted at JLNM Rainawari hospital. Among these 12 patients, one is a 5 year old girl and another is a 9 year old body. A youth is 21 years old while rest are above 40.

An official told that over 6500 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which include 6039 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 279 in Hospital Quarantine, 330 in hospital isolation and 13283 under home surveillance. Besides, 44940 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Similarly, Jammu has 26 positive cases of whom 21 are Active Positive and 5 have recovered, Udhampur 20 positive cases of which 11 are Active Positive, 8 recovered and 1 died, while as Samba district has 4 positive cases and all are Active Positive; Rajouri has 04 positive cases, 1 active positive and 3 cases have recovered; Kathua has 1 positive case which is active positive; Ramban has 1 positive case who is Active Positive. Meanwhile, Kishtwar has only 1 positive case who has recovered. (KNT)
