Srinagar: At least nine shopkeepers were detained by the police after they were found violating the government orders in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Saturday.

Officials said that the order has also been issued by the administration, asking people to stay at home as precautionary measure in wake of the deadly coronavirus.

Sopore police has detained nine shopkeepers who had defied the government orders, officials said. District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, GN Itoo meanwhile, urged people to follow the advisories and instructions issued by the government in letter and spirit, adding that there will be complete lock down of shops and other business establishment till further orders. He further said only medical shops shall remain open. (KNO)
