The death toll due to the coronavirus has mounted to 164 in Jammu and Kashmir as four more patients died due to the virus on Saturday in the Union Territory, unnamed officials told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Unnamed officials further told that a COVID-19 positive case from Bari Brahmana area of Jammu died in Government Medical College and Hospital today.
“A man who was tested positive a few days back died today morning,” Medical Superintendent of GMC Jammu, Dr. Dara Singh told KNO.
Moreover, Dr Salim Tak, Medical Superintendent at Chest Disease (CD) hospital told KNO that a 45-year-old man from Trehgam who was referred from Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) after testing positive for COVID-19 on 4 July died at CD hospital on Saturday.
The patient was very sick and was suffering from bilateral pneumonia, hypertension and other ailments, he said.
Earlier, two more patients including a 24-year-old woman from Anantnag and a 77-year-old man from Hyderpora Srinagar had died at SMHS and Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences respectively.
With four more deaths, the death toll due to COVID-19 in J-K has reached to 164 including 148 from Kashmir and sixteen from Jammu division—(KNO)
