Srinagar: At least sixteen people from three families in Kreeri, Baramulla, north Kashmir, have been quarantined for visiting the house of Gund-Jehangir patient, who died of COVID-19 infection a few days ago.

Tehsildar, Kreeri, Syed Shabr, said that nine people, who had visited the patient, have been sent to Government Medical College, Baramulla, for quarantine. The remaining seven family members, including four children, have been advised home quarantine and their homes have been sealed off.

Shabr further added that the families will be under close monitoring, while the neighbours and others have been advised to avoid contact with them.

However, as per Shabr, none of the family members had any symptoms yet sending them to quarantine was necessiated due to their visit to the family where eleven more came positive on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the authorties have carried out a massive disinfection drive in Kreeri today.
