Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that the administration was trying to facilitate everyone including Amarnath yatris and perishable goods so that no one faces any difficulty along the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

Talking to reporters after visiting Pantha Chowk yatri Niwas today, as per a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), LG Sinha said that directions have been passed to the concerned quarters not to stop trucks loaded with fresh fruit on the national highway.

He said that a traffic plan has been devised so that no one faces any difficulties including the yatris. “Trucks will only be stopped when yatris would be coming from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Trucks loaded with perishable goods would not face any inconvenience,” he added.

On being asked about security arrangements put in place for Amarnath Yatra, Sinha said that government forces have worked in coordination with each other and till now this is one of the best security arrangements that have been put in place for the Amarnath Yatra.

He said that till now over 50, 000 pilgrims have visited J-K for the Yatra and it will further increase in coming days.

Meanwhile, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) J-K, while quoting LG Sinha on its official Twitter handle informed that officials have been asked to ensure fruit growers, farmers and dealers transporting perishable goods do not face any inconvenience on the national highway.

“Officials to ensure fruit growers, farmers, dealers transporting perishable goods do not face any inconvenience on the national highway. It is top priority of the administration to streamline the traffic for both Yatris and traders of fruits & vegetables,” DIPR tweeted. (KNO)
