Pakistan army has accused India of indulging in state sponsored terrorism after five of its soldiers were killed after an explosion near the de facto border with India.

The blast took place in the Barnala area close to the Line of Control (LoC), which divides Pakistan and parts of Kashmir, on Wednesday, a Pakistani military statement said.

“The incident is evidence of state sponsored terrorism by India violating bilateral ceasefire agreement and the international rules,” the statement said.

The arch-rivals barely escaped a war in February when they launched cross-border air strikes at each other, sending tensions to the highest they have been since both gained nuclear weapons.
