One of the militants killed in Anantnag was involved in killing of SHO Arshad: Police

One of the two militants killed in Anantnag gunfight has been identified as the Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammad commander, Fayaz Kanzoo. Reportedly, he was involved in the attack on CRPF personnel in Anantnag town on 12 June 2019. Notably, SHO Anantnag, Sadar Police Station, Arshad Khan was killed in this attack with other five CRPF personnel.

The police tweeted, “Big achievement.Another top Commander of #Jaish Fayaz Panzoo killed along with his associate. He was involved in attack on CRPF at Anantnag town on June 12,2019 in which 5 CRPF Personnel were killed & SHO Arshad Khan was seriously injured who later succumbed to injuries.”

The encounter broke out between government forces and militants on Tuesday afternoon in Kathoo Wopzan area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, resulting in killing of two Jaish militants.
