Head Constable beaten to death by mob in Rajasthan

In another shocking incident, a police constable was beaten to death by a mob in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan on Saturday.

Abdul Gani, 45, a resident of Kunwariya who was a head constable, was probing a land dispute and had gone to Hamela ki Ber village to investigate the case where he was attacked by a group of people.

He was rushed to a nearby community health centre where he succumbed to injuries.

The police later reached the crime scene in a bid to identify Mr. Gani’s assailants but are yet to apprehend anyone related to the lynching case.

Mr. Gani received severe head injuries which ultimately led to his death, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Gupta told a news agency.

“The prima facie it appears that unknown miscreants beat him up while he was investigating a case, he received a severe injury on his head that led to his death. No arrest has taken place yet in the case and probe in the matter is underway,” Gupta said.
