Kashmiri IAS officer Shah Faesal resigned from the services to join politics on 9 January 2019, and later in a post he said that the resignation was in protest against the unabated killings.
Shah Faesal was 2010 IAS batch topper who sought voluntary retirement. Several reports said that he was joining the Farooq Abdullah-led National Conference but Faesal called the reports as assumptions.
Shah Faesal, 35, who hails from the Lolab valley in Kupwara, is believed to be eyeing the Baramulla constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In this interview with The Kashmir Walla Editor Fahad Shah, he speaks about why he resigned and what is the way forward for him, and his journey into politics.
