Gulmarg: Some Frozen Moments
This photo feature has some of the snow-capped moments of Gulmarg Snow Festival 2011 frozen by freelance photo-journalist, Muhabit-ul-Haq. The two day snow festival was organized by the Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir. Several teams and individuals participated in snow base-ball, snow rugby, snow cycling, ice-skating, skiing and snowboarding.
Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) is a town, a hill station and a notified area committee in Baramula district in the Indian side of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located 52 kilometers from Srinagar. It has been a resort for the kings like Yousuf Shah Chak and Jahangir who would visit it frequently.
